Dear Adelphi University School of Social Work Community,
At this time of year, the changing seasons remind me of the transformative beauty of nature. I have also come to appreciate the transformative beauty and power in the process of a social work education. In this edition, I’m pleased to introduce you to social work students with rich practice experience whose understanding of social work—and the knowledge and skills they bring to their work—has blossomed by continuing their education at Adelphi. We also put a focus on America’s child care crisis, and in doing so, highlight the expertise of one of our faculty members. There’s also an early look at our new certificate program that prepares students to address issues of environmental justice.
I hope these stories increase your interest in learning about the career-changing education that School of Social Work students are receiving, which in turn drives meaningful change in our communities. As we approach Giving Tuesday on December 2, please consider giving your support to the scholarship and tuition opportunities that allow our students to engage in this educational journey. |
