From My Desk President Christine M. Riordan

Dear Friend,

Adelphi University celebrated its 127th birthday on June 24, marking its legacy as the first private, coeducational institution of higher education on Long Island. Through our continued focus on student success, research, creativity and community engagement, I’m proud that Adelphi is still a positive force for innovation and educational progress today.

This month’s stories highlight the values that shape our bold vision for the future. Three of our faculty members received prestigious Fulbright honors and will share their knowledge and expertise around the world. We added five new members to our board of trustees with dynamic leadership experience. We formed new support systems to address the national nursing shortage, and one professor uncovered new information about the world’s largest dinosaurs. We also share an inspirational message from an international student-athlete about Adelphi’s life-changing impact.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Fourth of July celebration. Enjoy the rest of your summer, and thank you for your support.

All the best,
