Dear Fellow Panthers,
My family and I love all things Adelphi. My grandfather, Mtshena Sidile ’65, uncle, Dr. Eric Sidile ’73; uncle, Dr. Austin Ndhlovu ’78; aunt, Mercy Sidile ’79; cousin, Themba Sidile ’01, MBA ’04; and my mother, Vuyelwa Sidile ’81, are all graduates. You could say it's a family tradition, all the way from Zimbabwe!
I grew up in Zimbabwe and loved to play football (soccer). My coach encouraged me to explore my college options and to take the SAT exam. I sent applications all over the world, including to Adelphi. In the Fall of 2008, I chose to continue our family tradition and enrolled at Adelphi. As a student, I led multiple clubs and organizations and enjoyed a brief stint on the men's soccer team. I graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in finance and a minor in economics.
After graduation, I remained involved with Adelphi in multiple capacities and was recognized as a 10 Under 10 honoree in 2016. Today I serve as the vice chair of our Adelphi University Alumni Advisory Council, have had multiple speaking engagements, and support the school of business and other campus programs that empower underrepresented communities and students. I continue to give back to the University because it gave my family and me a foundation and so much more. Read on to learn about reunions, an Adelphi wedding, alumni travel opportunities and a fantastic way to showcase your Panther Pride with the Legacy Family Competition.
All the best,
