Dear Stuart,

Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed the holiday season and are energized for the new opportunities that 2023 will bring. We can’t wait to see our campus filled with students again for the spring semester in a few short weeks.

I’m proud to share this month that Adelphi’s retention rate has reached a 10-year high. Our associate provost for student success explains how we are meeting students’ needs and how we plan to keep pushing retention even higher.

We also continue highlighting diversity, faculty excellence and alumni achievements in our community. While a Pulitzer Prize-winning professor debuts his latest work at Carnegie Hall, a recent theater alum plays a feature role in a popular Apple TV+ series. Communication Sciences and Disorders graduate student Carla Alvarez describes the importance of bringing speech therapists into Spanish-speaking communities. And finally, we’re excited to welcome Paralympic gold medalist Anastasia Pagonis this year to study sport management and compete on our swim team.

Wishing you good health, happiness and success this year and always.

All the best,
