Joan MacLeer Kuster ’51, a devoted alumna and longtime resident of Garden City, died on October 24, 2024, at age 94. The 2009 recipient of the Ruth S. Harley Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award, Joan and her late husband, Richard J. Kuster ’51, shared a passion for the performing arts, a love that continues through the Richard J. ’51 and Joan M. ’51 Kuster Endowed Scholarship for the Performing Arts, supporting Adelphi students in financial need who study theater, music or dance.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 23, at 11:00 a.m. at the Rye Presbyterian Church in Rye, New York.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor Joan’s memory by contributing to the endowed scholarship. Your donation, matched dollar for dollar by Adelphi University, will help her legacy inspire future generations. |
