Adelphi University New York
News from Adelphi University's Robert B. Willumstad School of Business

November 2024

Dear Students and Colleagues,

I am pleased to share the latest edition of our newsletter for Adelphi students, faculty and staff, highlighting some of the events and achievements of the Willumstad School of Business. One of our strategic themes is to foster an inclusive and connected community. Our annual ice cream welcome social and the Accounting Society’s annual fall networking event are two well-known examples of how we build a connected community. Read on to see some of the other ways the Willumstad School is connecting students, alumni and the business community.  Also, mark your calendars for Wednesday, November 20, at 6:00 p.m., for our Hagedorn Lecture on Social Responsibility, which will be about the critically important topic of “Making the Business Case for Health Equity.” I hope to see you there. In the meantime, enjoy our newsletter and the beautiful fall colors of our Garden City campus.

Regards,

MaryAnne Hyland, PhD

New Flex MBA Launches

We are excited to announce that our Flex MBA, which enables students to complete their MBA in as little as one year, began enrolling students this fall. Students can choose from a variety of STEM and non-STEM specializations. Additionally, all students will engage in two problem-solving days, to provide practical experience in critical thinking and teamwork as they tackle complex business problems. According to Raghida Abdallah Yassine, PhD, the MBA program's academic director and Willumstad School assistant professor of management, "This new program provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to make them game changers in the future of work."
