It is hard to believe that the start of the fall semester is just a few weeks away. We are looking forward to welcoming our students and faculty back to campus.

While the summer is quieter than during the fall or spring semester, we are happy to share with you some of our news and upcoming events.

Summer Internships

Internships are back in full swing for business school students this summer. Interns are working virtually and in person, throughout Long Island, in New York City and even out of state. There are six Willlumstad School business students who were selected to participate in the University's annual Jaggar Community Fellows Program, which matches students with internship opportunities in the nonprofit sector. Students are also interning at companies across industries, including GEICO, Henry Schein, Wells Fargo, Enterprise, Morgan Stanley, EY and PwC. If you are a business student looking for an internship this fall, please contact Laura Black, director of internships, at lblack@adelphi.edu.

Career Opportunities in Accounting Profession Program

After a two-year COVID pause, the Willumstad School was proud to once again host the Career Opportunities in Accounting Profession (COAP) program, which introduces high school sophomores and juniors from underrepresented communities in Long Island and New York City to the fields of accounting and finance. The program, which is sponsored by the New York State Society of CPAs, welcomed 18 students for two days at the end of June. The sessions for the first day were held online and the second day's sessions took place on our Garden City campus. Special thanks to Karen Wallace, visiting assistant professor, for her excellent work in planning and carrying out this important program.
