Adelphi is a place of opportunity, and our community is constantly showing its commitment to advancing positive change. This month, I’m proud to recognize students, faculty and alumni who use their Adelphi experience as a platform for innovation in everything from theater and art to psychology and supercomputing.
Pulitzer Prize winner Jonathan Larson ’82 learned to compose at Adelphi before writing the hit musical Rent and inspiring future theater legends. Joel Weinberger, PhD, professor of psychology, shared his fascinating research that explores the unconscious mind in a recent TEDx Talk. Junior physics major Edward Jansen programmed cutting-edge AI networks during his Department of Energy internship this summer. Graduate student Maria Rossi presented her unique women’s health social work program at a global conference. And finally, our Multicultural Center received a beautiful upgrade highlighting the ever-evolving diversity of our community, thanks to junior art education major Gianna Valente and her classmates.
I’m looking forward to welcoming everyone back to our campus in a few short weeks for the start of the fall semester. Until then, I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!
All the best,
