Dr. Osakwe Discusses Research on Home Healthcare for Older Americans

College of Nursing and Public Health Assistant Professor Zainab Toteh Osakwe ’06, PhD, discusses the importance of home health aides for the elderly during the COVID-19 pandemic in New York—and the role of the Clinical Education and Simulation Lab (CESiL) home-care setting in nurses’ training.

Innovative Nursing-Social Work Collaboration—the IDEATE Program—Wins National Award

Adelphi's Interdisciplinary Education and Training Experience (IDEATE) Fellowship program, the nursing/social work collaborative learning project, has won the John L. Blackburn Award from the American Association of University Administrators. Just one university per year is given this honor.

CNPH Plans Partnership With Nobel Peace Laureate’s Nursing School in Bangladesh

Under their memorandum of understanding, the College of Nursing and Public Health and Professor Muhammad Yunus’ Grameen Caledonian College of Nursing in Bangladesh plan a collaboration that will encompass exchanging faculty members and staff, sharing academic materials, offering faculty development, and jointly participating in seminars.

Two CNPH Faculty Members Awarded Project Firstline Infection Prevention and Control Grant

Project Firstline, a collaboration between the American Nurses Association and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, has awarded Assistant Professor Edwin-Nikko Kabigting, PhD, and Clinical Assistant Professor Ani Jacob, DNP, an educational grant to train nurses and nursing students in infection prevention and control.

Clinical Education and Simulation Lab (CESiL)

The CESiL is more important than ever when it comes to training healthcare workers. Students in our labs obtain vital hands-on clinical experience. Located in the Nexus Building, the 22-bed CESiL houses seven clinical exam rooms, a pediatric exam room, a delivery room and a home-care setting. Students learn in a safe environment, where mistakes can be made without endangering patients, and train in situations ranging from routine to emergency.
