When It Comes to Corporate (and Individual) Social Responsibility, Adelphi Means Business

Embracing ethical practices has always been intrinsic to the Robert B. Willumstad School of Business, both for business and personal actions. Here's how we incorporate corporate social responsibility into every aspect of the School, from classes and faculty research to guest lectures and our annual Business Plan Competition.
 
The Dean’s Advisory Board Is Invested in Student Success

The volunteer members of the Dean's Advisory Board are accomplished industry professionals, working to ensure our students succeed academically and in the job market. We spoke with Richard Salute ’71, chair, and Deborah Viola ’84, PhD, about their roles and the rewards of giving back.

Lance A. Gumbs ’93 walks in two worlds: He's a business-savvy entrepreneur who revived his family business while earning his degree at Adelphi as well as a leader of the Shinnecock Indian Nation.

Pamela Buckle, PhD, MA ’13, has completed all qualifying exams and is now a licensed psychoanalyst in the state of New York.

Eunji Lim, PhD, assistant professor, is the new director of the Elizabeth and Allen Don Center for Innovative Technology and Decision Sciences, and Zhimin Huang, PhD, professor and chair of decision sciences and marketing, is the new associate director. We appreciate Drs. Lim and Huang for taking on these leadership roles.

Noreen Gillin is now the Willumstad School's reporting and student program specialist.

Robert Goldberg, James F. Bender Clinical Professor of Finance and Economics, was quoted in the Newsday article “Commerce Department Report: Weakness Across Economy.”           

Zachary Johnson, PhD, associate professor of decision sciences and marketing, was quoted in an article on Fox Business titled “Amazon Adds Layaway as Another Installment Payment Option.”

Ganesh Pandit, DBA, was quoted in the U.S. News & World Report article “Can You Buy a Car With a Personal Loan?

C. Richard Baker, PhD, professor of accounting and law, had an article, “Making Accounting Estimates Under Conditions of Risk and Uncertainty,” published in Internal Auditing.

Rakesh Gupta, associate professor of decision sciences and marketing, had two articles, “Product Life Cycle Analysis” and “Environmental, Social, and Governance Criteria,” published in Pathways to Research in Business and Economics.

Ayana Culley ’11, MBA ’21, has been accepted into the Doctorate of Business Administration (DBA) program at Baruch College.

Michal Davydov ’20 is now a global debt financing analyst at Santander.

Scott Dimig ’06, senior vice president, promotion, at Epic Records/Sony Music,
was chosen as one of the 2022 Hitmakers of the year by Variety magazine. This list highlights musician executives and artists who had the biggest songs of the year, which for Dimig was “WAIT FOR U” by Future featuring Drake.

Jerod Emrit ’19, MBA ’20, was promoted to assistant controller at ABKCO Music & Records Inc.

Peri Finkelstein ’22, was featured in an article about overcoming challenges in Forbes magazine. Finkelstein is currently an MBA student at Adelphi.

MBA ’20, was promoted to senior audit associate at Grassi.

Elaina Gouramanis ’14, MBA ’15, was promoted to director, human resources – advertising sales and partnerships, at NBCUniversal.

Matthew Greiner ’12, participated in the Nasdaq bell-ringing ceremony on December 12, 2022, with his company MainStay Investments.

Michael Guglielmi ’15, MBA ’16, was promoted in December 2022 to vice president – tax manager at Bessemer Trust.

Diana Malizia ’16, MBA ’17, was promoted to tax manager at Mazars.

Eu’nice R. McCoy ’14, director of event marketing at the National Urban League, was honored as one of Adelphi’s 10 under 10 Alumni during Spirit Weekend in October 2022.

Recent Adelphi field hockey graduate Jackie Brown ’21, MBA ’22, was recognized as an NCAA Woman of the Year Top 30 Nominee at the 2023 national NCAA Convention in San Antonio, Texas, on January 12, 2023.
