Accounting Networking Social a Success

The Accounting Society’s Networking Social is an annual event where students have the opportunity to network with various professionals from accounting firms. This year, we had 16 firms and more than 80 students in attendance. Adelphi students took this great opportunity to advance their careers by making connections with professionals. We look forward to the Accounting Society’s annual volleyball event in the spring, at which firms and students will have the opportunity to continue developing their relationships. It’s all about the networking!

The weather was just about perfect on September 14 for this annual event at which students, faculty and staff could network while enjoying an ice cream. Students had the opportunity to meet faculty and program directors, learn about job shadowing and internships, and explore clubs and study abroad options.
Don Center Supply Chain Event

The first Elizabeth and Allen Don Center for Innovative Technology and Decision Sciences event of the year, "Managing Risk to Enable Supply Chain Agility and Resilience," was held on September 26. The panelists were Duncan Klett, co-founder and fellow at Kinaxis; Thomas Sproat, senior director of network development at A.P. Moller; and Eunji Lim, PhD, assistant professor of decision sciences. There were more than 100 attendees at this virtual event.
International Business During Intersession

We are excited to once again offer our undergraduate International Business course with an emphasis on China. Students will learn about international business while also experiencing Chinese culture through online and in-person activities, as well as working with cultural liaisons from China or Taiwan. If you are a student interested in this unique course, contact Director for Student Success Lori Cary, MBA '20, for details.

Students Meet With Robert B. Willumstad
A group of students had the opportunity to meet with Adelphi University Board of Trustees Chair Emeritus Robert B. Willumstad '05 (Hon.) during his visit to campus in September. Seven were undergraduate students in the highly selective Willumstad Leadership Scholars Program: Shelly Barkan, Michalis Clark, Amanda Frånstedt, Jonay Jackson, Kathryn Lynn, Orel Sims and Danelya Zholdasbekova.
Students in this yearlong program focus on leadership development activities and work together on a team project that is either for Adelphi or an external organization. The scholars were joined by two additional students: management major Joseph Gagnon and graduate student Barbara Quagliardi.
