Adelphi University New York

From My Desk President Christine M. Riordan

Dear Friend,

Last week’s Welcome Weekend and Matriculation Day were exceptional occasions to be on Adelphi’s Garden City campus. It is always terrific to see our incoming students and their families excited for the path ahead.

This month, I’m proud to highlight how Adelphi infuses our deeply held values of community and compassion into an award-winning first-year experience, and how we continue to advance academic excellence in high-demand fields, as we do with our Master of Public Health program. Additionally, Adelphi’s unique culture of belonging encourages more diverse students to explore STEM programs and has earned us five stars on the Campus Pride index this year.

Adelphi enters this new academic year guided by our recently adopted strategic plan, Momentum 2. I look forward to sharing in October how the next five years will continue building Adelphi’s legacy of connection, innovation and transformation.

I wish you an academic year of energy, enthusiasm and success.

All the best,

A More Inclusive STEM Curriculum
Students with computer science degrees are in high demand and command top salaries—but too few women and people of color choose this major. Two Adelphi faculty members just earned an Inspiring Programs in STEM Award from INSIGHT Into Diversity magazine for their work to help change that.
