Fall 2026 |
There is a particular kind of energy this fall, and I hope you feel it too. Our classrooms, labs and training spaces—in person and online—are full of people who have decided to build careers that matter, and I can’t wait to see what this year brings.
I’ll begin by celebrating our students and expert faculty in emergency services administration and emergency management. Few degrees connect so directly to the moment someone needs help most—when a disaster strikes or a complex challenge arises, our graduates are the ones who answer. The skills built in this program are immediately and deeply practical, and they help make our communities safer. Every person who is part of this program is someone others count on, which is something to be proud of.
Equally meaningful is our new grant that removes cost as a barrier for students entering the healthcare field through our noncredit career programs. Pathways such as certified medical assisting, phlebotomy, EKG technician, patient care technician and dental assisting are among the fastest routes into in-demand work. In a matter of months, students can earn credentials leading to real jobs, steady paychecks and a foothold in a field with room to grow. I am deeply grateful to our partners for investing in our students and in the health of our region.
I also want to recognize the veterans, active-duty service members, reservists and military-connected students who are part of our community. Your leadership, resilience and commitment to service enrich our university every day. We are honored you have chosen Adelphi for the next chapter of your journey and are committed to supporting your success.
What ties all of this together is purpose. Whether you are pursuing a degree or a certificate, starting your first career or reinventing yourself, you are joining a workforce that keeps people healthy and safe. That work is needed now more than ever.
So let’s make this year count. I look forward to the clinical placements completed, the certifications earned, the first job offers accepted and the milestones I can’t yet predict. I hope you’ll reach out, stop by and share your successes along the way.
Here’s to a year of growth, service and accomplishment.
