AU Adelphi Alumni

June 2026

Dear Friend,

June is a season of celebration, reflection and new beginnings at Adelphi, and this year those themes feel especially meaningful.

Last month, we proudly welcomed the Class of 2026 into the Adelphi alumni family. As we know from our own experiences, reaching this milestone requires years of hard work, perseverance, ambition and determination. Whether earning a bachelor's, master's or doctoral degree—or adding another credential to an already impressive journey—our newest graduates have much to be proud of. I look forward to seeing the impact they will make in their professions, communities and beyond.

Another exciting new beginning for Adelphi is the appointment of fellow alumnus Michael A.L. Balboni '81, JD, as the University's 11th president. A distinguished leader in government, public safety and the private sector, President Balboni is also the parent of an Adelphi alumna and a longtime member of our Adelphi family. His deep appreciation for Adelphi's history, values and potential uniquely positions him to lead the University into its next chapter.

This spring also brought the opening of Adelphi's new Manhattan Center, expanding opportunities for students and strengthening our presence in the heart of New York City. At our official ribbon cutting, we celebrated Adelphi's commitment to meeting students where opportunity lives.

At the same time, cherished traditions continue to bring our community together. This month, alumni, friends and supporters gathered for the 38th Annual Golf Classic, which raised more than $245,000 in support of Adelphi students and our Baseball program. We also look forward to the upcoming Janet L. Ficke Golf Classic, which will once again help advance opportunities for our student-athletes.

Together, these milestones—new beginnings, bold investments and enduring traditions—reflect the strength of the Adelphi community and a bright future ahead. I am proud to call you my Adelphi family and look forward to all we will accomplish together in the years to come.

With Panther Pride,

Morgan Russell Landin ’08, MBA ’19
Chair, Adelphi University Alumni Advisory Council

*Starting in 2026, taxpayers who take the standard deduction will be able to deduct charitable cash gifts on their federal income-tax returns—up to $1,000 per individual or $2,000 for married couples filing jointly. This change allows the nearly 90 percent of taxpayers who do not itemize to receive a tax benefit for their charitable giving, making it easier to save on taxes while continuing or increasing annual cash donations to public charities.
